English Friendliness
Great English service! English subtitles were available at most exhibitions and videos. However, limited availability for English tours.
Service
Phenomenal service! The guides were very friendly and went above and beyond to support visitors who did not understand Japanese!
Educational Value
High educational value for sure! The tour provides a detailed information regarding each aircraft and how the airlines operated! Must visit if you are interested aviation industry! Great site for children as well!
Costs
The cost is very cheap compared to other facilities. The only cost that you would likely incur is the transportation and that’s it (of course it depends on the trip you pick)!
What is Japan Airline Sky Museum?
Japan Airlines Sky Museum, also widely known as JAL Sky Museum, is one of the few aviation museums in Japan that allows the public to observe the behind the scene of airline maintenance. The musuem is offered by one of the two major japanese aviation carrier Japan Airlines, and most of the programs are open to public for free.
Where is Japan Airlines Sky Museum?
Japan Airlines Sky Museum is located near the Haneda Airport, however, it is not exactly in the terminal. Rather, it is located near all the airlines’ offices and facilities. Therefore if you are visiting by public transportation, you should head to Shin-Seibijo station (located in between Terminal 1 and 3 stations) using the Tokyo Monorail. For specific details, visit Sky Museum Access Page.

Cost of the visit
While most of the visits are free to the public, Japan Airlines also provides paid programs like the life vest-wearing program, priced at approximately 1500 yen. Therefore, when making your reservation, ensure to select the program that aligns with your preferences and budget.
However, regardless of the program, The airlines will offer you small airline gifts (e.g. neck strap). However, please note that transportation costs and other costs are not included in the airlines’ offering.
Please refer to Japan Airline Sky Musuem’s official website for up-to-date information.
How to make a reservation for the visit?
Reservations for the visit can be made through the official Japan Airlines Sky Museum website. The website displays the next two months of available reservation dates. Unlike its counterpart ANA, the Sky Museum’s reservation system allows for waitlisting, simplifying the reservation process compared to ANA. However, it’s important to note that securing a reservation is still quite challenging, and you should book approximately two months in advance of your desired visit date to increase the likelihood of securing a spot.
Important Notes
- While I have endeavored to provide the most accurate and current information possible, errors may still be present. Therefore, I recommend referring to the Japan Airlines Sky Museums’ website for the most accurate information.
- Please remember to bring your photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport, etc.) with you on the day of your visit.
- Please note that English may not be available for certain tours. If you require further assistance, please contact the museum directly. During our visit, we did receive a few English-translated pamphlets and instructions; however, the tour itself was conducted in Japanese.
